Lynn Marie
Lynn Marie is a newcomer to Oswego but is no stranger to New York State, having lived in Rochester, Ithaca, and Steuben, Chenango, and Otsego counties. She holds undergraduate degrees from SUNY Cortland and Oneonta, with an MA in English from Cortland, and was a high school teacher and an adjunct at Oneonta and the University of Delaware. Her first career job was as a photojournalist. She has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe and uses her images as inspiration for her paintings.
“I am drawn to oil painting because it offers a wonderfully wide range and depth of color and texture. In my landscapes, I try to capture the beauty and grandeur of a natural setting. I am captivated by the expanse and magnitude of water and sky, their boundlessness and radiance, and am always on the lookout for that perfect wave or cumulous cloud.”
